What is Allevia?

Allevia is a hay fever tablet which contains the ingredient fexofenadine hydrochloride. It helps to control symptoms such as:

  • Sneezing
  • Itchy, runny or a blocked nose
  • Itchy and watery eyes
  • Itchy skin

Allevia works by blocking the release of histamine, a chemical produced by the body in response to an allergen, such as pollen or dust.

How long does Allevia take to work?

It takes one hour for Allevia tablets to work, but the full effect may not be seen until a few a days of consistent use.

The effects last for up to 24 hours.

Important note: The maximum dose is one tablet daily. You should not exceed the stated dose.

Can you get Allevia 180mg?

Allevia ingredients

Active ingredient: Fexofenadine hydrochloride

Inactive ingredients: Pregelatinized maize starch, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, povidone K30, colloidal anhydrous silica, macrogol 400, titanium dioxide (E171), red iron oxide (E172) and yellow, iron oxide (E172).

Can I take these tablets if I am lactose intolerant?

Allevia tablets do not contain lactose and are safe to take if you are lactose intolerant.

Does Allevia make you drowsy?

Allevia is a non-drowsy antihistamine. However, around 10% of users will be affected by drowsiness.
